Lumenera's SKYnyx line
of cameras offer another excellent alternative for imaging the
activity of the sun. Designed for the clinical and
life science field, this camera can easily be adapted for
the unique application of narrowband solar astrophotography.
Adaptation
The 2-2 has a standard
C-mount and will accept an astronomical C to 1.25 adaptor. The
USB 2.0 cable and proprietary control software are simple to
install and use. You can literally go from opening the box to
capturing an image in just a few minutes.
Control
Lunenera's control
software offers up to a 1616x1232 resolution for both preview
and image capture. That results in a final image size of around
19 inches! Even the smallest solar details are displayed when
using the SolarMax 90 telescope or Solar Spectrum filter.

Single Prominence -
Used as the SOHO Pic of the Week.
At full resolution, the
camera is limited to 15 frames per second. Lowering the
resolution increases the fps to a maximum of 200 with binning.
Gain and shutter control are adjusted with a sliding bar.
Lucam Recorder control
software is used by many imagers and works perfectly with the
sun.
