Premium Denk II Binoviewers used for Solar Observing

Denk II Solar Binoscope
Denk II's and Coronado .5A SolarMax 90

Denkmeier binoviewers give absolutely stunning views of the sun when used with a hydrogen-alpha filter! Prominences seem suspended in space and disk detail takes on a truly 3D appearance when using two eyes. Active regions and sunspots are embedded in the Chromosphere. Even the normal spicules that cover the entire surface come to life.

It's one of the best views in amateur astronomy!

I use part "O" and "S" of the Denkmeier Optical Corrector System (OCS) with the Power X Switch. This allows you to go from a high magnification view to a wide field (focal reducer) view instantly.  The sun fills most of the field of view and is perfectly placed against the blackness of space.

Denk II's
D21 eyepieces, Denk II Premium Binoviewers, and Power X Switch

The D21 eyepieces work exceptionally well. The image through the SolarMax 90 telescope is large and magnified. The exit pupil is large enough that precise head position is not required and you have the flexibility to move your head while observing. The eyecups are excellent for solar observing and negate the need for a black cloth over your head to block outside light.

The combination of magnification, field of view and contrast make for an unforgettable image of the sun in hydrogen-alpha. It's that good!
