SOLAR
APOD

NASA's Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD) chooses the Sun as
it's image of the day. The
original title "Sunspot in the New Solar Cycle" is changed to
"Sunspot in the Old Solar Cycle" after a solar astronomer
contacts the publishers. It was determined that the pictured
sunspot was from solar cycle 23 and not the new cycle 24. Hey, I
just took the picture.

SPEAKING AT THE WINTER STAR
PARTY

What an unbelievable experience! This one
ranks up there with talking at Coronado Hands on the Sun and the
Northeast Astronomy Forums (NEAF) main stage. There were over 35
dedicated astronomers in attendance and only one person fell
asleep! Speaking here, among the waves and sun, is something you
never forget.
