The AP900GTO is an extremely high
quality mount well suited for tracking the sun and is the ultimate for nighttime astro-photography.
It has a daytime polar alignment routine. Besides directing the scope,
the hand controller can also run the JMI focuser.
Setup is easy and the mount will track dead
on for hours with a rough polar alignment. Movement is precise and
quick. The mount easily handles the weight of two big solar
scopes, a camera and/or binoviewers. It also holds up well during windy
conditions.
ATS Pier
The Advanced Telescope Systems pier
is a sturdy, well built pier that easily handles the loads of a Ha
telescope. Fitted with an AP adaptor plate, the ATS pier works
wonderfully with the AP900 mount. I find it much easier to carry than
other piers mainly due to the fact that the legs remain attached. Each
leg has individual adjustments for leveling. The pier has a carrying
handle and is painted with the same paint as the mount. Weight is 40
lbs.
Pelican 1660 Case
This case was made for the AP900.
Everything fits perfectly. The hand controller, cables and weights fit
between the tube rings. An
electric kitchen knife was used to
custom fit the foam.
